LBBC Beechwood dished ends for Britain’s Strongest Man competition

LBBC Beechwood has manufactured 8 x 900mm dished ends in 6mm thick mild steel for Rebel Strength based in Essex.

Rebel Strength designs and manufactures high quality, gym, fitness and strength equipment to suit all needs and abilities including Strongman, Strongwoman and CrossFit. All products are made from scratch in our own workshop using British Steel.

The finished items were to be used as part of the Britain’s Strongest Man competition at the FlyDSA Arena in Sheffield in front of 7,000 people and a televised audience.  They will be used again in May at the First Direct Arena for the Europe’s Strongest Man competition with an expected audience of 12,000.

2018 Nov – 25 years service award presentation

Trevor Jones a Machinist with LBBC Beechwood has been presented with a watch to mark 25 years service with the company.  The presentation was made last week by Group, Managing Director, Howard Pickard.

2018 Sept – LBBC Beechwood retains inter-company golf trophy

A team from LBBC Beechwood have retained the trophy for the third year running at the annual inter-company LBBC Group golf event on Friday 28th September 2018 at Fulneck Golf Club in Pudsey, Leeds.

The annual inter-company event has run for over 10 years with teams of 6 players from LBBC Technologies and LBBC Beechwood.  The Fulneck Golf Club was founded in 1892 and is believed to be the oldest golf club in Leeds, which is appropriate venue as the original Leeds and Bradford Boiler Company was founded in 1876.

Danny Hazell from LBBC Technologies and David Bryan from LBBC Beechwood won the two Nearest the Pin competitions and Alan Hollings from LBBC Beechwood won the Longest Drive.

2018 Aug – LBBC Beechwood highlights specialist manufacturing capabilities

As part of a visit to LBBC Group the Conservative Party Chairman, Rt Hon Brandon Lewis MP visited LBBC Beechwood, the specialist pressure vessel manufacturer who supply a range of industries including oil & gas, marine and power generation. These industries all demand high standards of quality with LBBC holding a range of accreditations including ASME ‘U’ stamp and China Manufacturing Licence.

Case study: Hyperbaric Lifeboat Mating Trunk and Mating Clamp Assembly

Client:  Submarine Manufacturing & Products Ltd (SMP Ltd)

LBBC Beechwood have manufactured for Submarine Manufacturing & Products LTD (SMP Ltd) a Hyperbaric Lifeboat Mating Trunk and Mating Clamp Assembly, which enables the emergency transfers under pressure of evacuated divers, from a 24 person Self Propelled Hyperbaric Lifeboat (SPHL) into the 24 Man capacity Hyperbaric Rescue Facility (HRF) which was manufactured by SMP for Sea-force Hyperbaric Inc located in St Johns Newfoundland Canada.

The state of the art HRF facility provides emergency life supports services to enhance offshore safety requirements during commercial diving offshore Canada.

In the event of a vessel emergency offshore, where for safety reasons the saturated divers must be evacuated from the mother vessel, they are transferred into the SPHL which carries the evacuees to the St Johns Sea-force Life Support Hyperbaric Rescue facility (HRF).

For transfer under pressure (TUP), medical treatment and controlled decompression once the emergency situation has been stabilised.

The LBBC mating assembly was manufactured in accordance with ASME VIII Division 1 and ASME PVHO and ASME ‘U’ Code Stamped & Canada registered (CRN) with the ASME U Code inspections carried out under British Engineering Services.

2017 Apr – Expanded Sub-arc welding capacity

Due to increase in demand, LBBC Beechwood have expanded their sub-arc welding capacity. The submerged arc process used for heavy steel plate fabrication work and is ideally suited for longitudinal and circumferential butt and fillet welds.

SAW is a fully-mechanised or automatic process, which improves productivity with high quality welds, high weld deposition rate and travel speed.

LBBC Beechwood use the submerged arc process in the manufacture of medium to larger diameter vessels for pressure and storage with the welding of the longitudinal seams and circ’s. It is also used for surfacing and buildup work, maintenance and repair.

2017 Mar – LBBC manufacturing large fabrications for international markets

LBBC are manufacturing a number of large fabrications for the rubber manufacturing industry, the current contracts will see supply to international markets.

LBBC Beechwood are completing machining and fabrication on the vulcanisers, more details to follow as the job progresses.
