LBBC Beechwood have invested in new ESAB G50 Auto Darkening welding helmets and ESAB PAPR system respiratory protective devices.
Senior Welding Inspector, Compton McCalmon said “In February of this year HSE raised a Safety Alert relating to new evidence that exposure to all welding fume, including mild steel welding fume can cause lung cancer, as well as limited evidence linked to kidney cancer. The new respiratory protective equipment is to be used when carrying out welding activities using processes such as GTAW, GMAW, FCAW.”
